Closet Essential: Tuxedo Blazer

shopbop.com
It is so versatile and dresses up any outfit. Its even great to dress up jean shorts and a plain tee. Add a bold necklace to pump up the effect and you will have a striking stylish look.

Fall Trend: Rocker

Shopbop.com
These pictures are gorgeous. So much detail in all of them. I am so excited for this trend. With the rocker look, not much is off limits. There are lots of different textures incorporated to one outfit. Mixing suede boots, a sequin top , fur vest and leather shorts. So many ideas to mix and match with. Regarding colours: focus on BLACK and mix in some white of course... other colours should be minimal and only accent the entire outfit. Add a little ACDC while getting ready for more inspiration!

Mens Style- When in Doubt Google David Beckham

- Cardigan + checkered shirt + tie

- Vest + Shirt + Skinny tie
- Navy Suit+ Black tie

- Half and Half tucked shirt + Cardigan

- Plain tee + Engineer boots

- Men's jewellery.... Yup, you can do that too.

David Beckham..... great style. Nothing too wild, just simple style. If he's wearing it, you should also attempt it.

Mens Style- J. Crew Inspiration

I love J. Crew. Its only available in the States but that doesn't mean we can't use it as inspiration. Great blazers, cardigans and peacoats! I especially love the mustard sweater, grey blazer and jeans combo!

The Silhouette- The Casual Guy

Weekend Cruising

Patio Relaxation
Apple Picking Trip
Just some quick ideas I put together to give you guys inspiration.

Mens Style- The Essentials

I'm starting with the basics here. This post isn't for a real fashion conscious male, cus they would know this already but it could also be a refresher for them. Every guy should have each of the above pieces in their wardrobe. Once you have these basics, then you can move to different variations and colours.

The Basics
Peacoat: A structured, just above the knee Fall jacket in a dark colour (I like navy). Shops: H&M, Banana Republic, The Gap, & Zara
Plain Tee: No graphics or fancy neck lines. Key colours are white, beige, salt n pepper grey and black. Shops: H&M, American Apparel, Old Navy
Sunglasses: If you can pull it off, a pair of RayBan aviators are the perfect pair of sunglasses. They are classics and go with absolutely everything.... from a casual weekend trip to the beach to a formal dinner date. There are also other variations of the aviator available, so find the one that best suits your face shape.
Shirt and Tie: I put these together but you don't have to. A nice crisp shirt and jeans is the best go to look, easy and simple. Add a tie if its an evening outing but for the day just the shirt will do. And when I say tie, I mean a slim tie not one you would probably wear to a wedding or office job. Think skinny or slim. Shops: H&M, Zara, Club Monaco, Winners
Cardigan: It may sound feminine but its a great piece to layer with a plain tee or shirt. You can also be daring with colour or prints here. Shops: Banana Republic, H&M, The Gap.
Blazer: Another simple piece but especially popular this season, for guys and girls. Good colours to look for are navy, khaki and grey. Black may look too much like a tux. Shops: H&M and Club Monaco.
Vest: Its a popular item this season, wore by celebrities with just a plain tee or shirt. The plain tee and vest would be the more casual look. Shops: H&M.
Brown Leather Belt: Specifically brown. It really grabs someone's attention and adds a pop of colour. I find a white shirt, dark jeans or navy dress pants paired with a brown belt, very sexy. Shops: H&M, The Gap, Winners.
Converse Sneakers: The only sneakers you should be wearing with your outfits. Running shoes are only to be worn to the gym or any other sports activities. Converse are classic and perfect for any outfit.... My brother even wears them with his suits.
Hoodie: H&M has really great ones in cool designs, colours and patterns. Looks great with a shirt and skinny tie. Adds a casual feel to a dressy look. Shops: H&M
Boots: Frye makes a great pair but they are a little expensive. The look is known as the Engineer boot. Something worn-out in a dark brown leather. Just keep that in mind when looking for boots. Shops: Aldo & Browns
Dark Jeans: No other colour needed! Jeans in a dark wash, no fancy bleaching, or rips. 7 for All Mankind have a great, simple pair and are worth the extra $$$. Shops: Holt Renfrew.

Happy Shopping, Guys!!!!

Fall Trend: Mad Leather

We have Jennifer showing off her love for leather in the latest Elle. Angelina Jolie also wore a leather dress to a movie premiere recently. So keep your eye out for leather.... in anything. Dresses, jackets, pants, shorts, shirts, vests, sky high boots..... anything you like.

The Silhouette- Urban City Chic

High Fashion Grunger
Rough Rose
Gaga Confidence
Style Conqueror
So as some of you already know, I'm done school and coming back home to the city :) So I thought I would inspire my latest Silhouette with this recent occurrence. Some of the looks are a bit out there but can definitely be worn and accepted in a big city.... learned this first hand. In my small university city where fashion is not a top priority, I decided to wear a white tank with horizontal ripped lines along the front to the corner store before heading to the beach. Its a hot top, made it myself and if you're on your fashion A-game then you know thats a trendy piece to have this summer. But as I paid for my things, the cashier looked at me and said, "Looks like you were attacked by a bear... no offence." Ahhh, no offence... I would have been ok with the first comment about the bear but no offence, arghhh. I just wanted to explain how cool my top was but knew it wasn't worth it. I felt almost like Cher in Clueless when that guy who robbed her, tells her to lay on the ground, and she tries to explain to him that its an Alaia dress and its super expense and not meant to socialize with the dirty asphalt. I know that in the big city, society would have welcomed the bear mangled tank. So here's to the BIG CITY and being open minded to new looks, ideas and me!

Fall Trend: Modern Gypsy

 shopbop.com

Hopefully you are all as excited as I am about the fall season. There is so much to look forward to! There are so many fierce trends this season  and I can't wait to share them with you. First up.... Modern Gypsy! This isn't no bohemian look... when I think bohemian I think... slow moving, zoned out female who is ok with the average life. Sorry, I don't fall into that category! But Gypsy.... by definition of course... a strong and independent traveler. Yup, that's me. I want to discover life and do it looking powerful! These looks from shopbop are amazing. I would recommend taking 5 mins per picture to fully appreciate the looks and lifestyle. If I were to analyze every picture, I could probably publish it as a short story. So take your time with the images, they are beautiful and very detailed. My top 10 Fall items will come later on!

Summer Trend:The Jillian Jumpsuit

Sienna Miller

So I first fell in love when Jillian Harris from the Bachelorette was wearing it on the show. She looked SEXY. So I need to keep my eyes peeled for a black jumpsuit. And it has to be black. Any other colour would just look to loud. Black = Sexy and Black Jumpsuit= Even Sexier! This one above is from Theory but a bit above my budget.

If you have a jumpsuit, send me pics!

Jessica Simpson is Glamourous

Sequin blazer! Yes Please!!!!!! What a perfect outfit. I kind of want a Jessica Simpson comeback. Never thought I would say that. She has a great voice and no new songs. Whats up with that?

90210 Bringing Out the Simple Style

Shenae Grimes

Jessica Stroup

AnnaLynne McCord

The girls look soo gorgeous. Today's red carpet theme: sophistication. And they all nailed it. Shenae in all natural tones and Jessica in all black.

A side note: I feel as though AnnaLynne is walking in the same path of Lindsay and Mischa. Its not looking good. She's having all the fun now but I give it a couple more years and she will be very messed up. I actually thought Hollywood would hit Shenea first. But our little Canadian girl is staying strong. I'm sure she's getting Tim Hortons shipped over, instead of drinking that drugged up caffeine in LA.

Summer Trend: Tie-Dye Denim

Yup, you heard it.... the 80s are slowly creeping back. Oversize tops, sequins, graphic tees, converse shoes, suede fringe, high waisted pants. The 80s is making a comeback. We are now saying yes to the tie-dye. I must say I do like it as long as its this bleached look. I think dark blue or royal blue with tie-dye is too striking. Paired with light colours like nude, peaches, and whites will mix nicely with the tie-dye and not make the jeans stand out too much.

Fierce Focus

Overly Confident
Enjoy the many ideas my brain comes up with. Just having fun with dresses! My fav is the floral dress with gold Louboutin shoes and striking aviators. I think some of that inspiration came from Beyonce. She loves the robot look and structured pieces.
